The festival has grown to become one of the largest single-day events in Grand Rapids. T he Grand Rapids Pride Festival, billed as “Together Again,” celebrates its 34th anniversary. Bring your own blankets and chairs and enjoy a provided meal ($3 per person) or pack your own. Meet up at Horace Blackman Park in downtown Jackson for a family-friendly picnic featuring activities, music and games. Presented by UP Rainbow Pride, the festival will take place in Mattson Lower Harbor Park in historic downtown Marquette. A Pride parade is scheduled for Sunday, June 12. MCP’s triumphant return takes place at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit. Presented by Madison Heights Human Relations Equity Commission & Arts Board, this event will feature a family-friendly festival with artists, games, snacks and music at Civic Center Park.

Presented by the Muskegon Pride Center, the celebration will include a downtown festival with live music, entertainment, street vendors and hands-on activities. Event features a kids area, vendors, events like Drag Queen Story Time, a fashion show, a drag show with a DJ and dancing, and a panel discussion. The second annual Lowell Pride will take place at Lowell Riverwalk. Highlights include a mass wedding, a children’s area, the Mark McMillan Behavioral Health and Addiction Services Recovery Zone and a sensory decompression area. Presented by LIV Cannabis, Ferndale Pride will feature more than 180 vendors and two entertainment stages. Ortonville Pride Festival will also provide on-site access to counselors. Attendees will enjoy inspiring speakers, crafters and artisans, musicians, food trucks, games and prizes, and a “free mom and dad hugs” booth. Brandon High School sophomore Abigail Rose has been busily planning Ortonville’s first-ever Pride festival, which will feature a parade and a safe, family-friendly LGBTQ+ event. Western Michigan’s LGBTQ+ hotspot will set the backdrop for a series of fun events, including a showing of “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” a drag bowling party, a lecture by Greg Baird, the Pride Care-A-Van Parade, Brunch at Borrowed Time, and a full day of Pride festivities at Pride in the Park at Beery Field in Douglas from noon-6 p.m on June 4.

Some highlights include the Henderson Pride Festival (with events happening throughout the month), PRIDE OUTside’s hiking events throughout the summer, Women's HotHer Pool Party at Influence, The POOL at The LINQ, on Sunday, June 5, and “A Beautiful Tomorrow” PRIDE poolside celebration at the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan on June 18. But on and off Strip, you’ll find fun bars, clubs, events, variety shows, and entertainment that warmly welcome the LGBTQ community, even if they don’t explicitly cater to it.

The best gay bars tend to be beloved dives, many of which are located in the " Fruit Loop”-the actual name of Vegas’ gay bar district just east of the Strip. When it comes to gay destinations, Las Vegas isn’t exactly Miami or Palm Springs, but we do what we can and we do it with a whole lot of camp. That said, there are still plenty of places to celebrate your LGBTQ+ pride in Vegas all throughout “official” Pride month, and every other month of the year, too. June is just too hot-not sweaty-sexy-ripped-bodies hot, but eyeliner-running-down-the-face hot. In Las Vegas, we celebrate Pride in October (officially LGBT History Month).
